The resolution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures to further improve the system for supporting handicraft activities” of December 30, 2021 has become another important document in the development of the industry.

Large-scale outreach activity is being carried out in the Aral Sea region as part of the implementation of this document, that is, the population is given explanations on the benefits and opportunities that will be provided to citizens who wish to engage in handicrafts. Representatives of the Administration of the Hunarmand Association in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, partner institutions and organizations, and the media are actively working in this direction.

9,781 artisans are registered in Karakalpakstan. Of these, over 2760 are masters, 7020 are students. In 2021, several measures were taken to attract young people to handicrafts, create new jobs and provide practical assistance to artisans.

Mrs. Guljakhon Zarimova from Nukus became a member of the Association in 2020. She sews Karakalpak national clothes. She teaches several girls the secrets of craftsmanship, to create such types of national clothes as saukele, kiymeshek, shapan.

“We are very pleased with the comprehensive support and care provided to us by the Head of the state”, says G. Zarimova. – The recently adopted resolution further expanded the benefits for the free and productive activities of artisans. Using this, I am planning to expand my activities and increase the number of students.
