A delegation led by Deputy Hokim of Bukhara Region for Tourism, Culture, Cultural Heritage and Mass Communications Botirjon Shakhriyorov visited Singapore to participate in the Halal In Travel Global Summit 2024.
Crescent Rating organized the event, which was attended by more than 80 representatives from 30 countries. The participants discussed the return of Muslim pilgrims to the Islamic heritage and transformations in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector.
At the summit, Botirjon Shakhriyorov informed about Islamic heritage, in particular, the legacies of Imam al-Bukhari and Bahauddin Naqshband, the sacred places of worship “Yetti Pir” and their importance for pilgrims, as well as the conditions created in Uzbekistan in pilgrimage tourism.
According to Bukhara Regional Hokimiyat, the results of reforms to develop the tourism sector in Uzbekistan were highly appreciated. The Bukhara region was awarded the Halal In Travel Global Summit 2024 Award, and Bukhara was awarded the “Bukhara City – Islamic Heritage Site of the Year” award and certificate.
