The NASA Space Apps Hackathon is an international event that brings together programmers, designers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and representatives of other fields, providing an opportunity to gather in real or virtual teams and use NASA's open knowledge to solve various problems.
This event aims to increase public interest in the aerospace sphere, strengthen cooperation between space agencies, and identify new talents among young professionals.
More than 30 thousand people from 160 countries take part in it every year. Over 350 applications were sent to participate in the hackathon held in Tashkent, of which 250 were selected.
The winners of the hackathon were the teams that developed the “WyeDust” program for predicting solar flares to protect equipment in space and on earth, the “Typhoon” program for predicting the development of forest fires based on artificial satellite data, the “PhDʼs” program for visualizing earthquake maps based on the history of monthly seismic observations.
