Guvanchmyrat Agayev: “Meetings of heads of state serve to strengthen friendly relations”
18:26 / 2024-09-12

At the Second Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian States, Chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Economic Issues Guvanchmyrat Agayev noted that the consultative meetings of the leaders of the Central Asian countries had become an effective platform for strengthening friendly, good-neighborly relations.

– The adoption of important five-party agreements and decisions at high-level meetings, which provide for the creation of modern conditions and long-term opportunities, have brought the priorities of cooperation between our countries to a higher level.

One of the essential tasks remains to implement joint production projects, considering new industrial and agricultural capacities and infrastructure facilities. Particular attention should be paid to meeting the ever-growing energy needs of Central Asian countries. We should also not forget essential aspects such as trade expansion, industrial integration, and cooperation in the systems of small and medium-sized businesses.

We believe that the ongoing efforts to preserve and popularize national values, environmental protection, ecology, and rational use of water resources, as well as our joint activities in the energy, transport, logistics, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, will be regional in nature.

Mr. Agayev concluded that today’s historic meeting will undoubtedly play an essential role in developing economic ties between our countries, expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, and exchanging mutual experience.
