Quvasoy, an industrial hub in Fergana region, is driven by key industries such as construction materials production, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, textiles, and agriculture.
According to Salimjon Nishonqulov, Deputy Hokim of Quvasoy and Head of the Investment and Foreign Trade Department, the industrial output in the region has increased 2.1 times over the past five years due to economic reforms initiated by the Head of state. Thanks to foreign investments, export support, and rising foreign currency inflows, Quvasoy exported products worth $42 million last year, while the volume of foreign investments reached $117.6 million.
Quvasoy farmers have extensive experience in fruit harvesting and exports. Their quince, cherries, apples, and peaches are in high demand abroad.
In the Quvasoy branch of the Qo’qon Free Economic Zone, Marwin Fruitline LLC is launching a project for fruit processing and producing thick natural juices.
The total area of Marwin Fruitline covers 5 hectares, with a project investment of 176.5 billion UZS and $6.5 million in loans. The facility is expected to produce $3 million worth of products annually, primarily for export to European countries. The project will create 120 new jobs.
Last year, around 20 exporting enterprises in Quvasoy shipped 21,000 tons of fruit and vegetable products worth $16.2 million.
