On the eve of the New Year holiday, an indoor swimming pool has been put into use in Romitan District of Bukhara Region. That is a real holiday gift for inhabitants there, especially young people.

At an event held on this occasion, the hokim (governor) of Romitan District, M.Olimov; and others said that in this country special attention was paid to the development of sports, to the strengthening of the material and technical base of this sphere and to the bringing up of young people to develop physically and spiritually.

At the swimming pool built with funds amounting to 2 billion 649 million soms from Uzbekistan’s foundation for the development of children’s sports, all the necessary conditions have been created for developing water sports and raising young people’s sporting mastery. Necessary equipment has been provided for trainers’ room there, its water analysis laboratory and various auxiliary facilities.

“I like swimming very much. I and my contemporaries are very glad about the construction of this swimming pool in our district. These conditions serve to ensure that we grow even healthier and stronger,” says a pupil of general education school No 1 in Romitan District, A.Subkhonov.

According to information from the regional branch of Uzbekistan’s foundation for the development of children’s sports, in the year 2016 gyms at four general education schools were built, major repairs were made on the stadium of a sport school for children and young people in Vobkent District, and the building of children’s school of music and art in Shofirkon District was reconstructed with the use of funds from this foundation.
