Attention, Contest!

The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan announces the International Contest for the 18th National Award “Oltin Qalam” (Golden Pencil).

Among the contest nominations, held in connection with May 3, World Press Freedom Day, is the nomination “For the best article by a foreign journalist about Uzbekistan”. It will determine the winners of the first place and 4 second places (in the directions of TV, radio, print and online publications).

The winners will be awarded the following:

for first place – a diploma, an “Oltin Qalam” figurine, and a cash prize in the amount of 200 times the essential calculated value approved in Uzbekistan;

for second place – an “Oltin Qalam” figurine and a cash prize of 175 times the basic calculated value approved in Uzbekistan.

Creative works are accepted in the following format:

copies of articles published in a newspaper or magazine (pdf format);

articles published in online publications (with links);

television video materials lasting from 3 to 30 minutes (in telegram format with annotation and summary of the content);

audio materials in the direction of “radio” lasting from 3 to 30 minutes (with an annotation and summary of the content).

In addition to creative work, you will need to submit:

brief information about the author and his professional activities (CV);

a copy of the document confirming the identity of the author;

phone number.

Creative works of foreign journalists will be accepted until April 10 through representative offices of Uzbekistan in foreign countries with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
