Participants of the 2nd Global Forum of Interparliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, held in Tashkent, visited Samarkand.

Representatives of international organizations and parliaments of foreign countries visited the sacred places and sights of Samarkand and got acquainted with Uzbekistan’s history and rich culture.

– During the Global Forum of Interparliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, we witnessed how the process of reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan is correct and goal-oriented, – says Deputy Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States Saky Sadykov. – We are pleased with the cultural events organized following the forum. Samarkand is the center of a powerful Turkic state founded by the great ruler Amir Temur. We are proud to visit such a great land and its holy places. We visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur, Registan Square, and other historical places.
