The main goal of the forum is to summarize the interim results of the implementation of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training and the World Programme for Human Rights Education.
The agenda of the two-day event includes a presentation of leading experience, practices and innovative approaches in the sphere, an exchange of views on improving the human rights education system at the international, regional and national levels, and the development of necessary recommendations.
Addressing the opening ceremony, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Munir Mammadzade noted that the forum is held under the auspices of the UN in a hybrid format, an opportunity for virtual contact with Samarkand has been created for a wide audience from all over the world, namely to participate in discussions and sessions.
A plenary session is being held on the “Implementation of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training and the World Programme for Human Rights Education: Best practices, problems and prospects”.
