The Tashkent House of Photography of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan hosted the opening ceremony of an exhibition of works by representatives of the Georgian diaspora, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Georgia in Uzbekistan jointly with the Georgian Cultural Center “Megobroba”.
The exhibition is organized on the occasion of Georgian Language Day and is one of the significant events aimed at promoting Georgian culture in Uzbekistan.

Established in 1990, Georgian Language Day is celebrated annually on 14 April. Georgian is the state language and is spoken by more than 4 million people in the world. The modern Georgian language has 17 dialects, which correspond to the historical regions of the country.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Georgia in Uzbekistan, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Georgian diaspora and other national cultural centers, creative intelligentsia, as well as the media.

Ambassador of Georgia to Uzbekistan Zurab Abdushelishvili, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Feruza Abidjanova and Chairman of the Georgian Cultural Center in Uzbekistan “Megobroba” Eka Margishvili addressed the event.
The exhibition includes expositions of artistic portraits by Ekaterina Sulakadze, Georgian landscapes by Alexander Kipiani, and paintings by a young Uzbek artist Kamilla Muminova “Tbilisi in Detail” and “Tenderness in Flowers”.

Paintings, graphic works of various technical and genre orientations, photographs by Rusudan Khubutia, and samples of Georgian writing and books are also presented.
