General Prosecutor’s Office: 200 appeals from citizens considered

The Press Center of the Central Election Commission hosted a briefing with the participation of representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Information was provided on the work of the Prosecutor’s Office in preparation for the referendum and the voting process.

The importance of ensuring the priority of the law and monitoring its implementation was noted at the event. In this direction, the Prosecutor’s Office organized appropriate work to respect the rule of law in ensuring the participation of the population in the political process. Working groups were formed in all territories, which were entrusted with the task of receiving appeals about the process of holding a referendum, cases of violations of the law and their elimination.

The Prosecutor General’s Office established cooperation with several international organizations and constant communication with the CEC Press Center.

The working groups carried out work to ensure the legality, openness and transparency of the ongoing process. At the same time, interaction with human rights organizations was maintained.

It was noted that about 200 appeals were received from citizens in the course of preparations for the referendum, which contained mainly requests for legal clarifications. There were no complaints.

Opportunities for advance polling were created. During this process, there were also no complaints of violation of the law.
