The Higher School of Judges under the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the USAID organized a training course on a gender approach in the judiciary, in Uzbekistan’s Parkent district.

The course aimed at discussing the gender approach, gender equality, the rights and opportunities of women in the judicial system of Uzbekistan. The conceptual problems in the gender sphere, the essence and content of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men”, and the tasks of comprehensive support for women were considered.

The three-day training course was conducted by Nigar Gapparova (specialist in gender equality, socio-economic analysis) and Alisher Islamov (specialist in adult education).
