Further development of trade-economic and investment cooperation with Malaysia

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov has met with Senior Minister and the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Mohamed Azmin Ali, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
Issues of promoting mutually beneficial trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.
Senior Minister of Malaysia highly appreciated the importance of deep-thought-out reforms carried out by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in further development of the country’s economy, interaction with foreign countries, as well as minimizing the consequences of the pandemic.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on resumption of the work of the Joint Committee on trade with its next meeting, studying the establishment of a joint Centre of Excellence of Halal Industry in Uzbekistan, attracting leading Malaysian companies to study the possibility of implementing joint investment projects in the country in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, electrical industries, ICT, banking and other services in Uzbekistan, expansion of cooperation in trade by increasing the volume of deliveries of chemical, textile and agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Malaysia, continuing the practice of conducting online negotiations between businesspeople of the two countries to ensure timely resolution of issues related to the implementation of joint investment projects and export contracts, as well as defining new promising areas of interaction and others.
