The 16th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum has been held under the chairmanship of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (Pakistan), via videoconference.

The heads of the delegations from India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan delivered speeches.

The parties discussed issues of the SCO and the geopolitics of Eurasia, in particular the prospects for cooperation in security between the members of the organization, as well as building up socio-economic cooperation between the SCO member states.

The participants reviewed the state and prospects for further development of the SCO’s activities in the context of a pandemic. They also stated the importance of coordination of actions, exchange of information and mutual assistance to overcome the negative socio-economic consequences of the pandemic.
