A joint meeting of the Board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFES) and the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states has been held via videoconference.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Mirzayev took part in the event from the Uzbek side.
At the meeting, the results of IFES activities in 2020 were summed up, an exchange of views took place on its activities, including in the current epidemiological situation. It was emphasized that in the difficult conditions of the past year, the fund managed to implement only 21 out of 83 planned projects.

Issues of interaction between the CIS member states in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were also discussed. Proposals for the implementation of interstate projects to be carried out in 2022 were considered.
Several projects will be dedicated to the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the CIS. It was noted that within the framework of interstate projects in Tashkent this fall, the 15th Forum of the creative and scientific intelligentsia of the CIS member states will be held, which will bring together figures of science, culture, art and education.
It was decided to hold the next IFES Board meeting in July. The format will depend on the epidemiological situation.
