On May 23, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri in Tehran, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Khusrav Noziri emphasized that Uzbekistan is a very important Member State of the OIC, which duly recognizes the significant role and huge contribution of the country to the further development of the Organization.

The current chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the ECO and the implementation of the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan put forward at the Summit of the Organization in November 2021 in Ashgabat were highly appreciated.

The parties discussed issues of preparation and holding of events in agriculture, tourism, transport and logistics, energy and ecology within the framework of the ECO during 2022.
