A delegation led by the Governor of Anhui Province of the People’s Republic of China visits Kashkadarya, Uzbekistan.
The visit of about 50 business representatives opened the door to new opportunities. Bilateral meetings, presentations, and business forums were organized within its framework.
During the dialogue at the Regional Hokimiyat, detailed information was given about the region’s capabilities, economic potential, available raw materials, and convenient infrastructure. Agreements were reached on establishing investment and cooperation ties towards the creation, within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, of an Uzbekistan – China Electrical Industrial Park in Karshi, a joint industrial zone in the construction sector in Shakhrisabz district, an innovative greenhouse and a solar photovoltaic station with a capacity of 10 MW at the Qarshi Conch Cement enterprise in Kitab district, establishing cement packaging, oil and gas production and artificial fiber production.
During the talks, the issue of exporting grain crops, dried fruits, and honey to Anhui, production of agricultural machinery and mineral fertilizers, organizing the Faculty of Chinese Philology at Karshi State University together with Anhui University were discussed. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kashkadarya region and Anhui province, as well as a Cooperation Agreement between higher education institutions of the region and the Chinese province.
At the business forum, held as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, promising projects were presented on the investment potential of the region and a favorable business environment. Within the framework of the forum, 24 agreements were reached for $517 million, including 20 investment agreements worth $451 million and 4 export agreements worth $66 million.
During the visit, members of the delegation got acquainted with the capabilities of large industrial enterprises and small industrial zones in the region.
