Uzbek athletes proved rather successful at the Asian Junior Championships in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling, by winning two gold, four silver and seven bronze medals.

Uzbek athletes proved rather successful at the Asian Junior Championships in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling, by winning two gold, four silver and seven bronze medals.

During competitions in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 69 kilograms, Abubakr Alimov became the champion of Asia by having defeated all his rivals. In other weight categories, Mahmud Bakhshullaev earned the silver medal, while Dostonbek Tursunbaev and Turabek Tirkashev claimed bronze medals.

Similarly successful for our athletes were the competitions among women. Nabira Esenbaeva, in the weight category up to 60 kg, rose to the highest stride of the podium. Shahodat Zhullibaeva came second in the weight category up to 56 kilograms, while Aktenge Keunimzhaeva took the third place in the weight category up to 46 kilograms.

In freestyle wrestling contests, Abbos Rahmonov and Rustambek Juraev won silver awards, while Hasanboi Rahimov, Bunyod Tajibaev, Islam Ilhomov and Gulam Abdullaev were awarded bronze medals.
