11:33 / 2022-02-05

Lemons and oranges grown in Bogishamol mahalla of Kasan district of Namangan region are exported to Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

“The lemonarium, which occupies 12 acres, is 5-6 tons”, said farmer Murodjon Eshonkhujaev. – We collect 20-25 kilograms from each tree. Mostly lemon ripens in winter. With the help of a special method, we can store fruits in cold stores until August.

This mahalla is home to 6,200 people in 1,224 families. Almost the entire working-age population is engaged in the cultivation of lemons and cherries. During studying the socio-economic situation, the responsible persons outlined measures to expand this type of activity.
