Sabantuy, the national Tatar-Bashkir holiday of friendship, labor, art, and sports, was held in Tashkent’s Central Park.
Exhibitions of folk arts and crafts, national cuisine, and much more were organized as part of the festive event. Songs and dances, sports competitions, and fun games were performed.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries R. Kurbanov, high-ranking officials from Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, heads of the Tatar and Bashkir national cultural centers.

Greetings from the heads of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov were read out. Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries Rustambek Kurbanov noted that the interethnic and interreligious harmony prevailing in Uzbekistan is the result of the state policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in interethnic relations.

For their contribution to strengthening interethnic harmony and friendship between peoples, several representatives of culture and art of Uzbekistan, the Tatar and Bashkir cultural centers were awarded orders and medals of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, honorary titles, and government letters of gratitude.
After the official part, a concert was held with the participation of leading artists of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, amateur groups “Izgenur”, and “Duslyk”.
