On February 1, Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Musayev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama signed Exchange Notes on the project “Improving medical care at the clinic of the Medical Institute of Karakalpakstan” for 794 million yen (about $7.35 million).

In 2021, the Government of Uzbekistan decided to establish a clinic of the Medical Institute of Karakalpakstan, which will serve as a base for improving access to medical care for the population of the region and training medical personnel. At the same time, there is a shortage of medical equipment in the clinic.

As part of the above project, the clinic will be provided with high-quality medical equipment and educational materials, including products from Japanese companies. It is expected that this cooperation will serve to improve the quality of medical care and education in the region, and will also contribute to the health of its residents.
