President of the Association of Art and History of the Timurids in France, Frederic Bressan, commented for the IA Dunyo on the constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan:
– The planned reform of the Constitution of Uzbekistan is a vivid example of the democratization of the country, which began with the mandate of the incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, from the very beginning, aimed at carrying out deeply thought-out reforms in the political, economic and social spheres. In particular, the conditions created for attracting foreign business to the country deserve attention. Measures are also being taken in culture, to revive and preserve cultural heritage sites.
While getting acquainted with the results of the meeting of the President with the members of the Constitutional Commission for the reform of the Constitution, I was pleased by the fact that special attention is paid to the involvement of the general public in the discussion of this issue. This means that an ordinary citizen can make suggestions and comments regarding the draft Basic Law of Uzbekistan. It is noteworthy that to date, about 48 thousand such proposals have been received. This figure shows the activity of civil society in this process and means that the new constitution will fully reflect the will of the people.
I would like to note that today Uzbekistan intends to create a just and democratic state with the rule of law, which, in turn, will allow it to develop rapidly and play an important role at the international level.
