Four of Uzbekistan’s judokas became Asian champions

Six of Uzbekistan’s athletes climbed the podium at the Asian Youth Judo Championships, held in South Korea’s Mungyeong.

On the last day of the continental championship, competitions were held in the middle and heavyweight categories. Barchinoy Qodirova (-70 kg), Shirinjon Yuldosheva (-78 kg), Shakhzodkhuja Sharipov (-90 kg) and Muhammadsodiq Sodiqov (-100 kg) were awarded gold medals in their weight categories.

In the competition among judokas, Fazliddin Rafikov, who competed in the weight category over 100 kg, was awarded a silver medal, and Mardon Ravshanov, who defended the honor of the country in the weight category up to 81 kg, was awarded a bronze medal.

At the Asian Championships, Uzbekistan athletes won 6 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze (total of 16 medals) and took second place in the overall team standings.
