Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Phthisiology and Pulmonology hosted an international scientific and practical workshop. It was attended by representatives of WHO, USAID, specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the leadership of the State Health Insurance Fund.

Current issues of the sphere and international experience were discussed at the workshop. The participants discussed protecting the health of the population of Asian countries, identifying forms of tuberculosis and their successful treatment, prospects for phthisiology and pulmonology, financing the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, new methods of financing the medical sector and medical services within the framework of state health insurance mechanisms introduced in Uzbekistan on an experimental basis.

Foreign experts gave a positive assessment of the work on state health insurance carried out in Syrdarya region and shared their countries’ experience in identifying forms of tuberculosis and their successful treatment.
