The First Vice-President of Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov has met with a delegation led by the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev.

The parties discussed the development and popularization of sports in the member countries of the Turkic Council, the organization of international tournaments between national teams and clubs, the retraining and exchange of experience of football referees, the establishment of comprehensive cooperation between football associations and federations.

Mr. Ravshan Irmatov noted that the development and strengthening of cooperation between the Turkic-speaking states in sports is one of the priority areas, and that sport is an important factor uniting peoples, contributing to strengthening mutual understanding and respect.

Mr. Baghdad Amreyev noted that it is possible to hold football tournaments between national teams, as well as teams of different age categories of the organization’s member states, which will contribute not only to the development of football but also fraternal relations between the Turkic peoples.

The Secretary General also held talks on holding a match for the Turkish Super Cup in Uzbekistan and offered to hold the match in Uzbekistan under the auspices of the organization.
