Uzbekistan Florists Association has been established by the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On further development of floriculture and nursery industries in the country’s regions” on August 4, 2021.
The Ministries of Agriculture, Investments and Foreign Trade were instructed to assist the association in organizing workshops, conferences, fairs and exhibitions dedicated to the floriculture industry.
Best foreign varieties of flowers will be imported to Uzbekistan for cultivation to expand the range of local flowers. Andijan, Izboskan and Oltinkul districts of Andijan region, Namangan and Davlatabad districts of Namangan region, as well as the Zaamin and Gallaaral districts of Jizzakh region, were selected for their breeding.
Land plots ranging from 0.06 to 1 hectare will be allocated for the expansion of the floriculture business. They will be distributed for 30 years through an open electronic tender in the order of leasing land plots for farming.
At least 10 percent of the funds allocated under the “Every Family Entrepreneur” program will be used to organize floriculture projects. Land plots will be allocated to entrepreneurs from Andijan, Jizzakh and Namangan regions to create 25 floricultural training grounds.
Starting September 1, 2021, 50 percent of transport costs spent by entrepreneurs on the import of seedlings, seeds, bulbs and rootstocks of flowers in 2021-2024 will be covered by the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Until January 1, 2023, a zero customs duty rate will be applied when importing tubers, bulbs, tuberous roots, corms, rhizomes, including branches, in a state of vegetative dormancy, vegetation or flowering, other live plants and cuttings.
