First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev has met with the Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Ali Asad Gilani.

According to the upper house of Parliament, at the meeting it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan have great potential, primarily in trade and economic ties and tourism.

The Ambassador praised the regional policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his forward-looking approach to international relations, as well as efforts to establish peace and stability in the Central Asian region.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations at the regional level. Issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the textile, agriculture, education and culture, as well as other areas of mutual interest, were considered.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain a systemic dialogue between the chambers of parliaments of the two countries and friendship groups.
