People of Uzbekistan and South Korea have similar culture and mentality, they are equally inherent in such qualities as patriotism, diligence, generosity, mutual respect and support, respect for elders and concern for the younger. Koreans, many years ago, by the will of fate found themselves in Uzbekistan, have become full and active members of our society. This is evidenced by the fact that our compatriots of Korean nationality sit in the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, local Kengashes of people’s deputies, work in the state governing bodies, in all branches of socio-economic life. In the years of independence, more than 300 of them were awarded high state awards. All this serves as a solid basis for the development and further strengthening of cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
South Korean artists actively participate in traditional “Sharq taronalari” international music festival in Samarkand, and cultural and art figures of our country – in various competitions and festivals held in South Korea. Days of culture of the two countries are jointly held.
In continuation of this activity, “Korea festival – 2017” is organized in Tashkent.
Korean national music and songs about peace and friendship, man and nature, past and present, good and beauty made a great impression on participants.
Within the framework of the festival, various exhibitions telling about the rich history and culture of the Korean people, fashion shows, movie evenings, song and dance holidays, will be held.
