On July 1-2, Fergana will host the Asian Open Hapkido Championship.

The Championship is organized by Fergana Regional Hokimiyat together with the Ministry of Sports Development, the Ministry of Justice and Uzbekistan Hapkido Federation.

About 400 athletes from Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, Israel, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan will also take part in the Championship. The leadership of the Korea Hapkido Federation will visit Fergana as part of the continental championship.

Korean martial art Hapkido is the third most popular after taekwondo and judo.
