Fergana region and Chungcheongnam-do province enhance relations

A delegation led by the Governor of the Chungcheongnam-do province of the Republic of Korea, Kim Tae-heum, visited Fergana region.

At a meeting with Regional Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov, issues of strengthening and further enhancing direct partnerships between regions in the investment, trade, economic, and social spheres were discussed.

The head of the region, who noted the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Fergana region delegation to Korea in March 2023 with the Governor of the Chungcheongnam-do province, Kim Tae-heum, expressed confidence that the current meeting will raise the level of cooperation between the parties to a new level.

Several proposals were made at the meeting. In particular, it was proposed to open a Fergana Trading House in Chungcheongnam-do, including an investment representative office, an exhibition and a trading platform for agricultural products.

Information was presented on the possibilities of small industrial zones in Fergana and the Kokand Free Economic Zone and the creation of a park for Korean manufacturers in the region, where entrepreneurs from Chungcheongnam-do who want to locate their projects will receive full support.

The feasibility of enhancing cooperation between Sun Moon University and Fergana State University and the Korean International University in Fergana in agriculture, information technology and electrical engineering, urban planning, and engineering was noted. Implementing joint projects in technical areas with Fergana Polytechnic Institute was proposed.

Governor Kim Tae-heum expressed his readiness to assist in opening a representative office in the province and expanding the export of agricultural products.

A Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation was signed at the meeting between Fergana region and Chungcheongnam-do province.
