At the event, organized in connection with this, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Shayhov, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Uzbekistan Mr. Stefan Priesner and others noted that a special attention paid under the leadership of the President of our country Islam Karimov to development of small business and private entrepreneurship contributes to the dynamic development of light industry, including the textile and clothing industry. In this process, a constant focus on strengthening staff development, expansion of production and improvement of product quality.

The President of our country during the visit to Namangan region in 2011 during a meeting with the “Istiklol” enterprise staff, producing seasonal menswear, noted, “Clothes decorate people. A well-dressed man - has good mood. Today, needs of the people, especially young people, in clothes, the attitude to choice, to fashion have been totally changed. In this regard, it is important respond to the needs of our people, young people in the modern and high-quality clothes of domestic production. Today it is necessary to further increase the number of these enterprises, comprehensively stimulate young entrepreneurs, deeply knowledgeable of requirements of time and market, create for them more opportunities, and support them.”

The Centre plans to annually engage students of about 50 professional colleges to an internship. It will play an important role in ensuring of modern specialists to clothing enterprises in the region. According to the project, the top 10 students will be recruited to work in the company “Istiklol Design Markazi”.

The participants got acquainted with the opportunities, created in the Fashion Design Center.
