Raising the relationship between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to an entirely new level is reflected in the cultural life of Uzbekistan. A vivid example of this is the Culture Days of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan.
A participant in this cultural event, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, artistic director of the “Yalla” ensemble, Farrukh Zakirov, told the UzA correspondent the following:
– Music, art, and literature bring people together. In recent years, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has paid great attention to further strengthening friendly ties between peoples, particularly strengthening the role and influence of art and literature.
It can be said that the Uzbek Culture Days held recently in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, are the practical result of cooperation. From time immemorial, Azerbaijani national music has delighted the ears of the Uzbek people. The poetry and literature of this country are loved and familiar to many Uzbeks. The fraternal people also greatly value Uzbek music, poetry, and folklore.
The Culture Days of Uzbekistan, held in Baku, once again demonstrated the similarity of our peoples’ language, religion, traditions, and attitudes towards art. Both Uzbeks and Azerbaijanis missed such warm, sincere meetings.

When we performed one of the songs with the Azerbaijani opera and pop singer Rashid Behbudov, the audience in the hall listened to our performance with great excitement – it touched me to the core. And our duet with Gulyanaq Mammadova gave the concert a particular mood.
It should be noted that in May-June this year, we took part in the project “Azerbaijani Music Days in Uzbekistan” held in Tashkent and Samarkand, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’a birth.
These days, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, the Republican Azerbaijani National Cultural Center are also actively participating in cultural and enlightenment events dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence based on the idea “In the name of a new life, in the name of New Uzbekistan!”
