At the Second Youth Olympic Games ongoing in the Chinese Nanjing, our compatriot Farhodbek Sabirov has won a silver medal in weightlifting competitions.

During the weightlifters contest in the weight category of under 85 kilograms, Farhodbek Sabirov came second with a result of 147 kilograms in jerk, 174 kilos in snatch, and hence 321 kilograms in both competitions.

Thus, Uzbekistan national team has two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. By now, the judoka Suhrob Tursunov has earned gold and bronze medals, Vladimir Svechnikov won gold in shooting, the taekwondo athlete Umida Abdullaeva – silver medal, while the weightlifter Adhamjon Ergashev brought a bronze medal.
