With the support of FAO, a group of Uzbekistan specialists went on a study tour to Türkiye to study best practices in the production of no-till equipment.
The team included staff from the FAO Country Office in Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State Agrarian University, and private enterprises.

The study tour is organized as part of implementing three FAO projects funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
During the study tour, Uzbekistan specialists visited large Turkish enterprises in Izmir and Konya, specializing in producing no-till seeders and laser planners. Opportunities for opening joint ventures in Uzbekistan to produce such equipment were studied, and relevant agreements have already been reached with the Turkish side.

Uzbekistan specialists evaluated such advantages of using no-till seeders as minimal seed consumption and reduced time costs.
FAO experts are confident that further improvements in agricultural mechanization will help reduce manual labor, increase resource efficiency, and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
