Over 100 types of honey from all regions of Uzbekistan are presented at the fair. Hereditary beekeepers and true masters of their craft are demonstrating the best examples of their products. Visitors can not only taste and purchase various types of honey, but also learn more about beekeeping.

During the Honey Festival, FAO’s two Innovative platforms were presented – the mobile application “Beekeeping Encyclopedia” and the information exchange system “Arizor.uz”.

Workshops will be held for industry representatives with the participation of international experts. The events will be held not only in Tashkent, but also in Fergana and Samarkand.

Intensive technologies in the use of bee pavilions, the organization of an accounting system that reflects the effectiveness of beekeeping, technologies for the industrial cultivation of bees, the procedure for exporting honey and the requirements of foreign countries for its quality, treatment of bees and the use of medicines, new technologies in the world beekeeping will be considered during the workshops.

“The FAO project on good beekeeping practices for sustainable apiculture aims at supporting the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan for the development of the industry. New opportunities are opening up for training and increasing the potential of beekeepers, introducing advanced technologies into their activities”, Sherzod Umarov, FAO Deputy Representative in Uzbekistan said.
