12:21 / 2024-05-30

An evening of Uzbekistan and Japanese culture took place in Tashkent in front of the State Academic Grand Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.

The unique event, held for the first time, was organized by the Japan – Uzbekistan Society for Economic, Cultural and Sports Relations with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan and the embassy in Tokyo.

Forty artists from Japan arrived to participate in the evening, which became clear evidence of strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

As Advisor to the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Shavkat Artikov noted, the historic visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in 2019 laid a solid foundation for further strengthening bilateral relations, and this evening of culture is the practical embodiment of warm friendship and mutual trust between peoples.

At the event, masters of art from Uzbekistan and Japan presented a colorful concert program, which included performances by the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, traditional Japanese Kagura, and Cherry Blossom dances, playing the flute, and a national costumes show.

Chairman of the Japan – Uzbekistan Society, Tetsuro Yamasaka, noted that Uzbekistan captivates with its hospitable people, vast opportunities, and unique culture, which contributes to developing trade, economic, cultural, and sports ties.

The parties agreed that the cultural evening would become an annual event in both countries.
