In Farghona Region, 2 thousand 549 small businesses were established last year. Commercial banks allocated 1 trillion 68 million soms worth of credits. As a result small business and private entrepreneurship entities accounted for 63.4 per cent of the gross regional product, 48 per cent of the region’s industrial output and 80 per cent of the employment there.
Enterprise is important in families’ income and prosperity. The law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on family entrepreneurship is an important programme document in this sphere.
Large-scale work is being carried out on establishing family enterprises in the region’s districts and towns and on turning neighbourhoods into centres of private entrepreneurship and family enterprise development. Consultancies for the provision of help in the development of business activity have been established at the offices of neighbourhood citizens’ gatherings. Methodological and practical help is being given to people who desire to engage in entrepreneurial activities.
There are more than 50 family businesses working in Rishton District. The number of family business entities working in such spheres as hairdressing, carpentry, pottery, baking, wood carving, sewing and embroidery is rising with every passing year.
Tables, chairs and other items of furniture made at the Zangori Vodiy family enterprise are modern high quality products. Customers like them. 20 young specialists work at the enterprise.
“Demand for our products is rising with every passing day. And so we are about to expand the volume of production. There are all the necessary possibilities for that. Specifically, long-term preferential credits from banks and lower taxes are good for us, entrepreneurs,” says the chief of the enterprise, Maqsudakhon Tojaliyeva.
Maqsudakhon and her spouse Rahmon pay special attention to the quality of their products. This enterprise is located in the territory of the “Nosgar” neighbourhood citizens’ gathering. Most of the young people working at the enterprise are graduates of vocational colleges. Last year, the enterprise produced 550 million soms worth of products. It has its own shop in the district centre.
Entrepreneurs who avail themselves of wide possibilities and privileges being created in this country are further improving their living standards through setting up family businesses. And at the same time, they are making a good contribution to ensuring people’s employment, especially young people’s employment, through creating industrial facilities in the territory.
