With a population of more than 10 million, Hungary is a rapidly developing agrarian and industrial state. This country is one of Uzbekistan’s most important partners in Central Europe.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, to further strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector.

At the meeting, the strengthening of Uzbekistan-Hungary cooperation was noted. In particular, friendly relations between the two countries’ leaders serve to develop mutually beneficial collaboration further.
The discussion focused on the issues of establishing cooperation between the two countries in phytosanitary, horticulture, viticulture, potato growing and agricultural education, as well as production, processing of poultry meat and meat products, and the creation of laboratories.

It was noted that large-scale reforms are being implemented, and a favorable investment environment is being created, which opens up new prospects for working with large foreign enterprises. As it was emphasized, the expansion of exports of beans, raisins, and plums from Uzbekistan to Hungary and an increase in the supply of corn seeds and potatoes from Hungary will benefit both sides.
During the dialogue, the upcoming work, including food security, was identified to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
