Export volume in Surkhandarya region exceeded 64 percent

Based on statistical data from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, an analysis of the foreign trade turnover of Surkhandarya region for the past year was conducted.

The region’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $790.9 million (share of nationwide turnover), up 86.2 percent from 2024. The share of exports in foreign trade reached 64.2 percent, while imports accounted for 35.8 percent.

Surkhandarya region conducts foreign trade relations with 76 countries. The main partners with a high share in foreign trade turnover are Afghanistan (30.2 percent), the UAE (26.3 percent), Pakistan (11 percent), Russia (9 percent), China (8 percent), Kazakhstan (3.9 percent), and Türkiye (2.1 percent). CIS countries accounted for 15.2 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.

By the end of 2025, the region’s export volume reached $507.5 million (a 1.5 percent share nationwide). In exports, food products accounted for 44.7 percent, finished goods for 20.3 percent, industrial goods for 8.4 percent, services for 2.5 percent, and non-food raw materials (excluding fuel) for 2.2 percent. The main partners in the export of goods and services were the UAE (39.6 percent), Afghanistan (26.1 percent), Pakistan (12.7 percent), Russia (12.2 percent), Kazakhstan (1.9 percent), and Türkiye (1.3 percent). Fruits and vegetables (40.8 percent of total exports) and textile products (7.4 percent) made up nearly half of the overall export volume.

By the end of 2025, import volume reached $283.4 million. The largest share of imports consisted of machinery and transport equipment (30.7 percent), food products and live animals (18.5 percent), industrial goods (5.5 percent), and chemical products (4.5 percent).

Surkhandarya region imported goods and services from 51 countries. The main partner countries were Afghanistan (37.6 percent), China (20.6 percent), Pakistan (8.1 percent), Kazakhstan (7.6 percent), Türkiye (3.4 percent), Russia (3.3 percent), Belgium (2.7 percent), Germany (2.5 percent), India (2.4 percent), and the UAE (2.4 percent). These countries accounted for 75 percent of total imports.
