The Agency for Information and Mass Communications hosted a briefing with the participation of the head of the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands Sokhibjon Khatamov.
It was noted that, according to the relevant legislation, the Council is obliged to check the rights and legitimate interests of farmers, dehkans, and owners of household plots, as well as to protect them in relations with state and economic, local civil society institutions, training, supply and service organizations, regulatory authorities when considering cases in the courts.
As of July 1, 2023, about 8,284 lawsuits have been filed with the courts to defend the interests of farms, dehkan farms, and landowners with the direct practical assistance of the Council’s lawyers. Of these, 5 thousand 442 were satisfied.
The cluster system created the ground for dramatic changes in agriculture quickly. In particular, cotton yield per hectare has increased over the past six years from 26 to 34 centners. In Andijan, Bukhara, Namangan, Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Khorezm, and Tashkent regions, up to 40 centners of crops are obtained.
Processing of cotton fiber increased 2.5 times and reached 100 percent. Yarn production increased 2.2 times, and finished products – 5 times. Next year, it is planned to increase the industry’s exports by 1.5 times – up to $5 billion instead of $3.2 billion in 2022. About 600,000 people work in the cotton textile clusters, earning a steady income.
50 percent of transport costs are covered when delivering cotton and synthetic fibers. Raw materials, paints and chemicals, fittings, cooling systems, and accessories are exempt from customs duty for three years. This will become the basis for improving the financial, material, and technical base of farms working with clusters.
