A plenary meeting of the Internal Audit Community of the Community of Practice of mutual study and exchange of experience in the sphere of public finance management (PEMPAL) was held in Tashkent.

A plenary meeting of the Internal Audit Community of the Community of Practice of mutual study and exchange of experience in the sphere of public finance management (PEMPAL) was held in Tashkent. It was organized by the World Bank in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives of financial bodies of Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Great Britain, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, South Africa, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

The Internal Audit Community brings together specialists in the sphere of public finance management, as well as the World Bank, ministries of finance and treasury bodies of more than 20 countries. The purpose of the event was the exchange of experience in the field of conducting reforms of state financial control and internal audit, development of joint recommendations.

PEMPAL serves as a valuable platform within the framework of which experts in the field of public finance have the opportunity to share experiences and develop mechanisms for addressing common problems associated with reforming public financial management systems.

Participants of the event received information on the ongoing reform of the internal audit system in Uzbekistan, expressed their views and suggestions on improving the effectiveness of these measures.

Within the framework of the meeting, international experts conducted trainings on the issues of reforming the internal audit system in the member states of the community.

Following the plenary meeting, a further strategy of multilateral cooperation in this direction is planned. Appropriate recommendations were developed.
