A delegation from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) visited Uzbekistan.
Together with the National Climate Center under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, issues of systematizing and expanding the portfolio of climate change projects were discussed. Technical aspects of developing the National Program for Financing Climate Projects in Uzbekistan were also considered.

According to experts, the program aims to address issues of water shortage, desertification, dust storms, energy efficiency, and improving air quality.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the project to create an Exhibition of Climate Technologies in Muynak, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai in 2023. The National Program is expected to be presented at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku.
