Tashkent House of Photography at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan hosted the opening ceremony of the Exhibition of Iranian Photographs and Calligraphy, held jointly with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan. The exhibition includes more than 44 works of Iranian architecture, historical monuments and nature.
“The photographs presented at the exhibition depict Iranian artifacts, calligraphy, and ancient crafts. They convey harmony with nature, historical monuments and architecture of Uzbekistan.
The exhibition is organized to arouse Uzbekistan people’s interest, attract tourists to our country and increase their flow”, says Ms. Maryam Shams Obodi, an expert on public diplomacy and media cooperation at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan.

Visitors are getting acquainted the art of calligraphy, which dates back to the VII century. Poems created in the handwriting “Shekasteh” and “Nastaliq” fascinate fans with the magic of writing. And the images of ancient copper household items tell about the history of Iranian handicrafts. The art of oriental carving allows the creation of such beautifully decorated dishes. All this has found its reflection in artistic photography, conveying the subtleties of objects.

The exhibition will run until August 28.
