Presidential New Year fir tree festivities have taken place at a high level in Navoiy Region, too.

Children deprived of parental care, those of children’s homes, children of low-income families and children of military servicemen and interior officers who had given their lives for peace and calm in the country were invited to the event.

A.Nuriddinov, the chairman of the Academy of Art of Uzbekistan, and others have said that constant attention and care being provided in this country for the younger generation’s harmonious development are producing great results.

New Year shows were presented to children gathered around a big fir tree. Theatrical shows, poems read out and songs performed by children made the holiday even more enjoyable. Presidential presents were given to children who were very joyous.

“Every year, we eagerly await Presidential New Year fir tree festivities. During this holiday, Presidential presents are given to us. And we try to be worthy of this attention. For instance, in 2016, I achieved second place at the republican stage of the Kamalak Jilosi (the rainbow’s colours) contest,” says Mariya Oshuvalova, a pupil of general education school No 18 in the town of Navoiy.

The hokim (governor) of Navoiy Region, Q.Tursunov, made a speech during the event.
