09:38 / 2023-07-29

A person who has arrived in Fergana region will be surprised by the cardinal changes and the construction and landscaping work being carried out, and he will feel the breath of New Uzbekistan.

Indeed, today the cities and districts of the region have acquired a beautiful and comfortable appearance as never before and turned into a real platform for large-scale reforms and creation. As the Head of state noted during his trip to the region, every reform, every change, first of all, should serve to exalt the honor and dignity of a person. It is gratifying that the work carried out at places, which is gaining more and more scope, is reflected in people’s lives and pursues one goal – to make people happy.

As a result of large-scale reforms carried out over the past six years, the region’s gross regional product increased by 1.3 times and reached 56 trillion UZS.

A favorable investment climate and cooperation with developed countries increase the interest of foreign investors in the region, and new large-scale projects are being launched. This year, it is planned to use $1.3 billion of foreign direct investment and foreign loans in the region (including $948.9 million for regional projects) within the framework of 246 projects. Over the past period, 180 regional enterprises mastered $436.6 million of foreign direct investment. Due to investments of $152.6 million, 502 projects were implemented, more than 17,000 new jobs were created, and the annual production capacity amounted to 787 billion UZS.

In Furkat district, the Chinese BNBM Building Materials Central Asia LLC launched a drywall production project at the expense of investments of $30 million, creating 130 new jobs. As a result, the annual production capacity was 40 million square meters. In Rishtan district, the private enterprise Chinor Plus-2020 has launched a project to build a production and craft complex at the expense of investments of $5.2 million, creating 200 new jobs.

Due to the launch of 1,399 projects worth $1.2 billion, 30.5 thousand new jobs will be created by the end of this year. Also, production volumes will be increased by 5.1 trillion UZS, export volumes by $171 million, and budget revenues by 611.7 billion UZS.

In Rishtan district, RUSO‘ZBEKTEKS LLC is implementing a project to produce terry towels and other products. As a result of the launch of this project, more than a thousand new jobs will be created. In Tashlak district, Zamin Aziya Farm LLC is implementing a $3.6 million project to produce infusion solutions. As a result, 60 new jobs will be created, and the enterprise’s production capacity will be 5,000 pieces of products per year.

The region has also formed 10 investment projects of mega and strategic importance worth almost $1 billion, which investors will implement in the coming years.

There are 1,062 mahallas in the region. Employees of citizens’ assemblies pay great attention to the issues of poverty reduction, employment of the population, and development of entrepreneurship. The growth point of each mahalla has been determined, and the “mahalla five” is doing significant work in this direction. Only within the framework of the program “Every family entrepreneur”, 806 billion UZS of credit funds will be allocated by the end of the year. At the same time, within the framework of the “iron”, “women’s” and “youth” notebooks, targeted assistance is provided to the population.

Today in mahallas, most problems are solved positively. An essential role in this is establishing an effective dialogue with the population and the work of leaders at the lower levels. This year, as part of the development of the infrastructure of the mahallas, large-scale construction and landscaping work is being carried out in 716 citizens’ assemblies of mahallas of the region. As a result, the construction and reconstruction of 8 schools, 4 preschool education institutions, 3 sports facilities, 15 buildings of citizens’ assemblies of mahallas, 374 road facilities, 229 drinking water supply facilities, and 21 irrigation facilities are being carried out.

The results of the ongoing reforms are also clearly reflected in the activities of schools, medical institutions, and higher education institutions. Thus, last year the enrollment level of children in preschool education was 86.2 percent. This year, this figure will be increased to 88 percent.

Recently, a 7-storey new medical building and a reconstructed reception and diagnostic building of Fergana branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care were put into operation.

Construction and reconstruction work was completed during the year. 32 billion UZS were spent for these purposes. As a result, the facilities for receiving patients in the institution were increased from 150 to 400 people per day. In the reconstructed 24-hour emergency department, separate “corridors” are organized for patients based on the severity of the disease: a “red corridor” for patients in critical condition, a yellow one for emergency care, and a green one for outpatient care.

A separate shock room, a small operating room, a treatment room, a room for serving children, rooms for a traumatologist, neurosurgeon, surgeon, otolaryngologist, therapist, and other narrow specialists, a laboratory, as well as a department of functional diagnostics have been organized to provide emergency medical care to patients by medical and diagnostic standards.

Most importantly, equipping this institution with modern medical equipment has created an opportunity for carrying out 60 types of high-tech surgical operations and complex treatment methods.

Consistently, work continues to provide the population with housing. In Fergana, a modern Eco-city is being built on 300 hectares. Yangi O’zbekiston neighborhoods are being constructed in Fergana and Yazyavan districts.

Any resident of the region with whom you talk today will express their joy and satisfaction with the transformations taking place. Indeed, every morning, every new day of the new Fergana begins with large-scale construction and landscaping work. People are satisfied with their lives. They work hard on the path of development of the country. Is there greater happiness than living and working in a country where human dignity is valued above all else?!
