Evaluation and commercialization of intellectual property – the requirement of time

This was discussed at a workshop held in Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel.

The resolution of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On additional measures of improving the mechanisms of introducing innovations in the industry and the sphere of economy” of May 7, 2018 created new opportunities for establishing effective mechanisms for interaction and strengthening cooperation between scientific research institutions and producers. In this process, issues of commercializing the results of scientific works and research are important.

This was discussed at a workshop held in Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel.

The event, organized jointly with the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Intellectual Property Organization, was attended by evaluators, national and foreign experts, lawyers and auditors, experts of technoparks and innovation centers of Tashkent, patent experts and scientific employees of universities.

At the event, main attention was paid to issues of improving the skills of specialists together with foreign partners who have solid experience in assessing and commercializing intellectual property objects, transferring technologies.

At the sessions, participants strengthened their knowledge of evaluation of intellectual property objects, valuation of intangible assets of scientific research and higher education institutions, definition of criteria for assessing intellectual property objects through a ranking system.

Within the framework of the workshop, a round-table discussion was held on “Methodology of assessing intellectual property and practice of combined assessment at the national and regional levels”.
