The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belgium organized a briefing dedicated to the upcoming inauguration of the EU – Uzbekistan Friendship Group.

The event was attended by MEP from Poland Richard Czarnecki, Political Advisor in the European Parliament Ipek Tekdemir and representatives of the Polish media accredited in the city of Brussels.

The head of Uzbekistan Mission to the European Union, Ambassador Dilyor Khakimov announced that soon, together with a group of MEPs, it is planned to establish the EU – Uzbekistan Friendship Group in the European Parliament to facilitate the further development of bilateral relations.

It was noted that this Group will contribute to the development of relations in the political, economic and cultural spheres. It will focus on promoting cooperation in culture, education, science, as well as people-to-people contacts. The group will facilitate dialogue between the socio-political and business circles of Uzbekistan and the EU.
