Moscow hosted the 8th meeting of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance. The Ombudsman of Uzbekistan Feruza Eshmatova also attended the event.
The event, held by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, was dedicated to the issues of ensuring human rights in healthcare.
This area is significant, because timely, high-quality medical care can save a person’s life and maintain health, while poor quality care can lead to severe consequences.
The rights of people in this regard must be strictly guaranteed and protected, and ombudsmen play an essential role in this process.
The event, organized to exchange experiences and study best practices in ensuring human rights in this direction, was also attended by ombudsmen from Armenia, Iran, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Serbia, Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Mali, Malawi.
The meeting participants agreed to hold joint events to increase the legal knowledge of citizens in matters of health and medical care.
The National Institute for Human Rights of the Kingdom of Bahrain was permanently accepted into the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance.
