A photo exhibition dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative “Hospitable Shandong – Eternal Friendship on the Silk Road” has kicked off in Tashkent.
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by the members of the delegation led by Lin Wu, Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Shandong province, and the employees of the ministries and agencies in Uzbekistan.
The relationship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and China and the history of traditional mutual friendship goes back to the distant past – when the Great Silk Road united the two countries. Even today, the two countries actively communicate based on mutual respect and equal rights. Political, economic, and especially cultural-humanitarian relations are built on the principle of trust and mutual support.
On October 24-28, 2022, the works of Chinese artist Li Lei were exhibited at the 9th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art. In May this year, a tour of the State Academic Grand Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi was organized in Beijing. People’s Artist of Uzbekistan R.Usmanov took part in the “Friendship of the Peoples of Central Asia and China” festival held as part of the Summit of Heads of State organized in Xi'an in May 2023.
The photo exhibition “Hospitable Shandong – Eternal Friendship on the Silk Road” aims to develop cultural ties further. All of the works that reflect the nature of Shandong, its vast territorial potential, the way of life of its people, traditions, culture, and customs are all taken by Central Asian artists.
The exhibition also showcases the unique handicrafts of Shandong province. These are handicrafts, various toys, and other exciting products.
