During the international conference “Innovative Technologies in Ophthalmology” held in Tashkent, issues of prevention of eye diseases and the main directions of development of this field of medicine were discussed.
The conference was organized with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Association of Ophthalmologists, and the Medical Association of the country.
Chairman of the Association of Ophthalmologists of Uzbekistan Zulfiya Maqsudova emphasized the importance of state support for ophthalmology. This field of medicine is considered important and is especially in demand today due to the increasing strain on the eyes of people, particularly children and adolescents, caused by the development of digital technologies.

According to experts, there is no universal way to protect your eyes. Decreased vision is an irreversible process, but its quality can be affected by the nature of the work performed, genetically determined characteristics, and high physical activity and nutrition.
The international conference participants discussed aspects of the organization of ophthalmological care, new technologies for the treatment of glaucoma, pathologies of the anterior, retinal, and posterior segments of the eye, and innovative solutions in the diagnosis and treatment of refractive errors.
